Hey y'all! I'm interested in starting a youtube channel that hosts live videos of bands in the Nebraska underground. I have zero videography experience, and was hoping some of y'all could point me in the right direction in terms of gear or tutorials. Ideally it'd be a two camera setup, one tripod one handheld, and I'll use a portable zoom recorder for audio. Once I get started I'd love to make the channel collaborative so multiple people can upload their videos to the channel to work as one united archive

That sick! If you're starting everything on the phone, a good-simple editing app is YouCut or CapCut. I use YouCut to promote something quick. But if you got a PC, DaVinci resolve is a great free program to get more advanced. Gear-wise, check on FB Marketplace for something affordable and learn. Either it's tripods, lights or cameras. Neweer got some good beginner gear. I don't know the budget but there's a nostalgia for camcorders with fish eye lens. Sony is mid-range or any mirrorless camera is good for low-light. Far future, REDS is high-end. Lastly, I know Rockbrock Camera has a big-tent sale that happens once a year. Good Luck!

Not only would we be willing to invest in this project, we would be willing to push this to every band that we know! This could be a really good opportunity to build something like Hate5six here in Omaha for us local bands. We have a guy for photography/videography who might be willing to help out or at least give you some pointers!

I archive what I can on YouTube digitalprovia, I’d love to collab. My day job is a professional videographer, so I have cinema gear and all that crap, but I’ve just been doing retro-styled handle mic recordings
