Anyone know of any instrumental bands based in Omaha? I know a lot of the Lincoln ones but I'm looking for any flavor of rock or rock-adjacent as long as it's fully instrumental.

Yes that'd be cool! Next month tho I will be reworking the forum as the way it is now is not ideal.

I'm going to change it to be more like 'reddit' in the sense that any user can start a thread and then give it a tag so users can filter what they want to see. Then I can add notifications easily.

@hillersj I play bass in an instrumental surf / garage rock band called The Sub-Vectors. We play at Laka Lono Rum Club in the Old Market on Thursdays twice a month and have been around for 10+ years. It's an absolute blast. No vocalist to ruin everything lol. https://www.facebook.com/subvectors

I'd never heard of SLAM Omaha until I made this site lol. But the stuff I hear about it is pretty funny

It was the Wild West of message boards. Basically unmoderated there were plenty of problematic things that popped up from time to time. But it was still a great place to form bands, meet friends, even future spouses in some cases. Now it's just a tightly sealed Facebook group with not as much music talk since most people on there have families and have moved on from music (or moved onto cover bands.) I'm one of the few on there still doing original music, not sure if that is sad or not but it's what I enjoy.

Pretty cool this site is here now though and I'm glad the music scene is still alive and well.
