I've heard a lot of zines being created but never printed and continued due to problems with producing physical copies so my hope is to alleviate that problem by providing a DIY printing / publishing service. But we need zines to print yo!

Kind of in general; I've found contact for the Slowdown, & I'm familiar w/ 1% productions, but I wasn't sure how far a reach they have or if it's kinda venue specific

Yeah as far as I know, 1% has control/connections with The Slowdown, Reverb Lounge, Waiting Room, and The Sidney. Probably some bigger venues but that's out of scope. From there it's definitely venue specific. Petshop Gallery, The Breakroom, Church/Art House, Foxhole, Pussy Palace, etc, are all run independently and have their venue specific contacts. If you need some help finding those out you can talk to us through the 'message us' button at the bottom of the page.

Semi-Aquatic Ape Man & The Electric Help Orchestra is an open-to-all free improvisational experimental orchestra who's inaugural performance will be August 16th at 7PM in the Lake Zorinsky Park boat entrance parking lot. We will have a portable power supply and a battery powered PA, and will accept any instrumentalists - electric or acoustic. Anyone is free to show up and play, generators, power supplies, or battery powered amplification contributions are welcome and encouraged. We're hoping to build it into a regular happenin' hootenanny

I'd never heard of SLAM Omaha until I made this site lol. But the stuff I hear about it is pretty funny

It was the Wild West of message boards. Basically unmoderated there were plenty of problematic things that popped up from time to time. But it was still a great place to form bands, meet friends, even future spouses in some cases. Now it's just a tightly sealed Facebook group with not as much music talk since most people on there have families and have moved on from music (or moved onto cover bands.) I'm one of the few on there still doing original music, not sure if that is sad or not but it's what I enjoy.

Pretty cool this site is here now though and I'm glad the music scene is still alive and well.

The Blak Durt Experience on 97.3 posted saying they are looking for a band to fill a spot this Friday in Lincoln. It's a fundraiser for their station so there's no band payout but he's a great guy and will record an interview with the band to be played on the air.

Hey, all. We are SUNGRAVE, a Post-Metal band from Denver. We're going on tour starting 11/7 and Omaha would ideally be our first stop, but we're having a bit of trouble gaining traction. Does anyone know any solid Post-Metal or Doom bands in the area who might want to make something happen?

Soundwise our stuff is kinda shoegazey metal with some doom and blackgaze inspired stuff. We also got a post rock-ish song on the set

That's a bit from now so if needed we could probably add a few more songs to have a longer set

30 ish minute set is PERFECT
